Marisa Minasian, Co-Founder: “I was adopted from Korea when I was 3 months old, and was fortunate enough to never enter the foster care system. My forever family found me at a very early age, but I have always felt passionate about supporting children who are still searching.”
Terry Buccat, Co Founder: “When my family began caring for foster children, I became exposed to a group of youth who, despite the hardship of being removed from their families, managed to possess a resiliency to enjoy each day. Without ‘parents,’ foster youth need a lot of support from the community, and I am committed to do what I can to help.”
Wanting to help, Marisa (aka “Morris”) and Terry created Morris Terry, a sustainable lifestyle brand committed to supporting foster youth.
Foster youth are children who have never been given a permanent home, family, or even friends.
Morris Terry is not only an advocate for healthy personal living, but also for a healthy community. From the beginning Morris Terry has worked hard to support foster youth in need.
This spring 100% of the proceeds from the MTX Gym Bag will give a foster child a chance to participate in sports, arts programs, and theater programs. While the government does not consider these activities to be “essential,” Morris Terry recognizes the need for all children to have creative outlets outside the home and the classroom. Each season Morris Terry designs at least one item that will give back to foster youth.
Morris Terry has partnered with HELPS, a local foster agency in Sacramento California, to fund extracurricular activities for children who would otherwise be unable to participate due to financial circumstances.
